This web app is a product of the project "Documentation of Indigenous Vegetables in the Philippines" led by the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) in 2018-2020, with support from the Philippines Department of Science and Technology (DOST) through the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development. Seventy-five (75) communities in 20 provinces helped us assemble an inventory of over 140 vegetable species that formed the initial dataset. As new information is made available by more communities, the dataset grows. This app also complements the Philippine Indigenous Vegetables Information Database (LINK: https://iveg.pcaarrd.dost.gov.ph/) and other information materials.

Dr. Joel C. Bandibas, who is currently working with the Geological Survey of Japan (GSJ), volunteered his expertise and free time to develop this app in collaboration with the UPLB project team, so that Filipinos will be encouraged to "rediscover the Philippines, one vegetable at a time".
